THE RANCH COOK

 

Well, if you're having breakfast


          At Soap Creek Ranch F-Y


Don't be expecting eggs and bacon


          Listen and I'll tell you why.


 


The cook's the wrangler's girlfriend


          And they've just had a spat


So when you see that empty plate


          Cowboy, you won't get more than that.


 


They've been having problems


          And they've been up all night


So you won't be getting breakfast 


          And we all know that ain't right.


 


Cowboys need strong coffee


          To start their day off right


Bur the wrangler and his girlfriend


          Are still aching for a fight.


 


A cowboy sure gets hungry


          From working hard all day


And he's sure worked up an appetite 


          When morning comes his way.


 


But breakfast at the F-Y, why


          It no more than wishful thinking


And I guess that's the answer to 


          What starts a cowboy drinking.
